770,000 people in England unable to speak English

UK Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Sajid Javid has vowed to address the “segregation problem” in the nation’s schools as he unveiled plans to boost integration and address the fact that 770,000 people who live in Britain are unable to speak English, The Telegraph reports.

The communities secretary promised to expand the teaching of English for immigrants as he warned that up to 70% of those unable to speak the language were women, and most of them were from Pakistani or Bangladeshi communities.
