A barrier taller than the Berlin Wall will separate refugees in Germany

A four meter high noise protection wall, higher than the Berlin Wall, is being built alongside a refugee shelter, in a Munich district. It is the result of a compromise – but it will now be famous in other ways. (Der Spiegel)

It will separate the local community and the 160 unaccompanied young migrants moving to a nearby shelter. (The Sun)

Support for the wall is perhaps unsurprising in Bavaria, with many of the German state’s politicians and residents repeatedly stressing their discontent with Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open-door policy for those fleeing war and persecution. (Russia Today)
