A kind gesture was made by children from one of Congo’s poorest area to Italian children affected by the earthquake that hit the Centre of Italy last August..
Don Ghislain, a Congolese priest who used to live in Italy, raised money to help Italians in need. He started his collect in Kingoué in Congo, where there is no water or electricity, after the Italian earthquake destroyed the cities of Amatrice, Accumuli and Arquata, La Stampa reports.
What started as a mission impossible quickly intensified after don Ghislain’s believers started to join the effort by giving what they could during the Sunday mass. When the fundraising ended in December, they had reached 156,400 Congolese francs, almost 238 euros.
An impressive goal was reached in the name of solidarity without any borders.
