Both Valls and Hamon would be knocked out in the first round of French general election, poll finds

Results from France’s first round socialist presidential primary show Benoit Hamon in front of the country’s former Prime Minister Manual Valls.

Both candidates are far away from getting to the second round of French general election: Front National leader Marine Le Pen is leading among French voters.

If Benoit Hamon will be Socialist candidate:

  • Le Pen, Front National (27%)
  • François Fillon, Les Républicains (26%)
  • Emmanuel Macron, En Marche (20%)
  • Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Front de Gauche (13%)
  • Benoît Hamon, Socialist Party (8%)
