“Macron won because he has always defended the European flag. He always had the European flag behind him and was not scared to promote his pro-European positions. He was a real  political leader, coherent  with his views on Europe and without following polls or euroscepticism,”  former Italian Prime Minister and now Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po Enrico Letta said during an interview to La Repubblica.
