France blocks face masks destined to Italy and Spain

France had blocked thousands of face masks destined to Italy and Spain, the CEO of the Swedish healthcare company Mölnlycke denounced to Sveriges Radio on Friday.

We received the materials from China and we sent it to France to be redistributed later to Italy and Spain but it got stuck in France because the country imposed an export ban on goods,” the CEO Richard Twomey said to the Swedish Radio.

Former Swedish Foreign Minister and prominent political figure Carl Bidt also intervened to unblock the situation: “The European Commission must openly and aggressively name and shame the EU countries that block the single market! A Swedish medical firm finds its deliveries to Italy and Spain blocked by France and has to find expensive and time consuming ways around,” he tweeted early today.
