French aircraft carrier ready to hit Islamic State

France was the first country to join the U.S.-led coalition in air strikes in Iraq against Islamic State insurgents, who have also taken control of large parts of neighboring Syria during the course of the civil war there. (Reuters)

Along with one anti-aircraft frigate and two submarines, one of them is  a nuclear one, the operation will deploy a total of 3,500 men. (L’OBS)
