French Special Forces to be deployed in North of Syria to stop Turkish offensive

French President Emmanuel Macron held talks with a delegation from Syria, including the Kurdish YPG militia, on Thursday after criticism at home over his response to a Turkish military operation against the militants in the north of the country, Reuters reports.

Accompanied by his special chief of staff, Admiral Roger, Macron announced that he would send French Special Forces to Manbij in coordination with the US, another report by Le Parisien said.

Turkish army could head to the Manbij region, which is under the control of the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on March 16.
