German political parties split on how to handle Russian rouble crisis

EU Observer: Dominant figures on the left and right in Berlin have voiced different views on how the EU should handle Russia’s rouble crisis. CDU (centre right, EPP) Finance Minister Schaeuble says that it is up to Moscow to prevent further sanctions because Europe can’t accept more military actions over Ukraine crisis, while SPD (Socialist, S&D) Foreign Minister Steinmeier states that a Russian economic collapse is dangerous for Europe.
