‘Hijab Day’ at prestigious French university renews veil controversy

A group of university students have rekindled the debate over the acceptance of the Muslim veil in French society as they invited fellow classmates at the prestigious Sciences Po university to try on the garment. (France24)

Students at Sciences Po urged women to take part in Hijab Day “if you too think all women should have the right to dress as they wish and have their choice respected”. (AFP)

The protest arrives after French PM Valls backed Muslim headscarf ban at universities. (The European Post)
