Jewish Brigade contested during Liberation parade in Italy

Today, 25 April, it’s Italy’s Liberation Day (Festa della Liberazione), a national Italian holiday commemorating the end of the second world war and the end of Nazi occupation of the country thanks to Allies Army and Italian partisans.

While all Italian cities were celebrating this anniversary with many parades, in Milan the Jewish Brigade, a formation of the British Army composed of Jews which fought the Germans in Italy, was contested by a pro – Palestinian supporters. The Jewish Brigade demonstrators were accused to be ‘assassins‘ and ‘fascists.
