French far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen was due in Moscow on Friday for meetings with lawmakers less than a month before a presidential election on April 23 and May 7, FRANCE24 reports.
“I am in favour of developing relations with Russia in the context of the long history that links our two countries,” Le Pen said at the start of her meeting with Russia’s parliamentary speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
She was officialy invited by the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, LIFE TV reports.
The far-right French election candidate Marine Le Pen has met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, according to reports.
Russian media said Mr Putin told the Front National leader that the Kremlin has no intention of interfering with the election beginning in France next month.
