“Our bilateral cooperation is not frozen, my visit here is a good demonstration of that. It is true that it is not what it used to be, we used to have strategic cooperation…. We would like to go back to the situation of that kind. But it would be surreal to consider each other strategic partners and have sanctions,” EU Foreign Affairs Representative Mogherini told reporters after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
“Federica [Mogherini] pointed to a very interesting aspect today saying that the European Union wanted everybody to implement the Minsk agreements,” the Russian foreign minister Lavrov said. “As you understand, this includes the Kiev government, the Donetsk and Lugansk militias, as well as the European Union, because Germany and France acted on behalf of the European Union. In addition, all these agreements were approved by the United Nations Security Council,” Lavrov added quoted by TASS.
