Persecuted Egyptian Christians seek refugee in Cyprus after persecution

Christian Today: Three Christians from Egypt are currently seeking refuge in Cyprus after they fled their Muslim-dominated nation because of the brutal persecution they had experienced because of their faith. Egyptian Coptic Christian Maher Elgohary, his daughter Dina and their friend, Rania, are appealing for protection and a safe home from the government of Cyprus after escaping years of persecution in their homeland, the Cyprus Mail reported.

On 11 December 2016, a suicide bomber killed at least 25 people and injured 49 others at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, a chapel next to Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, seat of the Coptic Orthodox Pope, in Cairo’s Abbasia district.
