Consuela Cordoba, who was left with horrific scars in an acid attack 17 years ago, made plans to end her life in Colombia – where euthanasia is legal. She briefly met Pope Francis during his visit in Colombia and she asked an advise. The Pope made change her mind, Corriere della Sera reports.
She said: “He said no, he was not going to do it. He told me that I was very brave and very pretty. That changed my life. Now I want to live.”
Pope Francis previously defined euthanasia as ‘the triumph of selfishness, not compassion’.
