Results from France’s first round socialist presidential primary show Benoit Hamon in front of the country’s former Prime Minister Manual Valls. Hamon, a relative political unknown and ex-education minister under President Francois Hollande, was ahead with just over 36 percent of the vote. (Euronews)
Valls took the second largest share with 31,6%, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Arnaud Montebourg, arrived third with 17,69 %, and suggested to vote for Hamon. Voters are between 1,5 and 2 millions. (Le Monde)
