Renzi: “Italy doesn’t take orders from the EU. Our job is to lead Europe”

In a post on his personal website, Italian PM Matteo Renzi remarks that “Italy’s jobs is to lead Europe, not to take orders in some palace in Brussels“. Full article here.

He wrote this post after his visit to Ventotene, Italian island where two of the Europe’s founding fathers Altiero Spinelli and Ernesto Rossi wrote “The Ventotene Manifesto”, which became the programme of the Movimento Federalista Europeo.
