Sweden cancels arms deal with Saudi Arabia

Sweden has announced it will not extend an arms deal with Saudi Arabia over human rights violations in the Arab kingdom. (Press TV)

The Swedish premier denied the decision is related to Saudi’s cancellation of a speech by the Scandinavian country’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström at an the Arab league meeting. (Alba Waba News)

Saudi Arabia is the third largest non-Western buyer of Swedish arms. In 2014, Riyadh bought equipment worth 338 million kroner (37 million euros, $39 million). (AFP)
