The European Court of Human Rights condemns Italy over LGBT rights

This morning the European Court of Human Rights unanimously delivered a ground-breaking decision in a case of Oliari and Others v. Italy and stated that Italy breached the European Convention of Human Rights by not providing any legal form of recognition of same-sex partnerships. This is the first time the European Court of Human Rights states that legal recognition of same-sex unions (civil union or registered partnership) should be available to same-sex couples.
