Vatican: “In Middle East there is a genocide against Christians”

“There is a genocide against Christians in Middle East, especially in Syria and Iraq”, said Cardinal Jean Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue in the Roman Curia.

“Christians risk to disappear in the area where Christianity was born. In 1920, there was 20% of Christian population in Middle East while nowadays it is only 4%. It is clear that there is a plan to delate Christianity in that area and we should call it a ‘genocide‘.
