War clouds are gathering in Europe – NATO, Russia and Italy hold military drills

The Russian military says more than 2,000 servicemen are taking part in “large-scale” air-defense exercises in southern Russia, Crimea, and the breakaway Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. (RFERL)

On Monday, Italian Navy has started naval drills near the coast of Libya amidst fears of terrorist attacks by extremist militants in the region. This mission is also aimed to protect ENI (Italian oil company) Greenstream underwater gas pipeline which is 540 kilometres (340 mi) long and it runs from Mellitah in Libya to Gela, in Sicily, Italy.
