Zapatero confirms: “Berlusconi put aside when rejected IMF loan”

“In November 2011, during the G20 meeting in Cannes, Italian PM Mr. Berlusconi and Mr. Tremonti (Finance Minister) were put under pressure to accept International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan for Italy. Once they rejected this possibility, the name of the future Italian PM Mario Monti started to circulate in the corridors of the summit. Time seemed a bit odd”.

With this words, former Spanish PM Zapatero started an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa.

He continued the interview talking about Podemos:

“I met Pablo Iglesias during a lunch, he is a cultured and educated guy. Podemos can’t be considered a populist party, they are social-democrats and idealists. They will not change the ‘system‘, they will be changed by democracy”.

“I am afraid by Front National policies but I am sure Marine Le Pen will not win the election”, he concluded.
